Clippings

What are clippings?
WWD.com's clipping feature allows you to clip and save your favorite images and articles to a clipfile you can access and manage. You can even add notes to the items you clip. This feature is available only to WWD.com paid subscribers.

What is a clipfile?
When you clip and article or an image, it's added to a clipfile, a folder named and created by you for your clippings.

What is the clippings toolbar?
The clippings toolbar sits at the bottom of each page and allows paying subscribers to clip and save articles and images you find on WWD.com.

Hint: If the toolbar is maximized, click "Open" to see articles and images, which belong to the currently selected clipfile.

How do I clip an image or article?
When you browse WWD.com as a paid subscriber, you'll see the option "Add to Clipfile" in the top right-hand corner of each article. This option also appears when you move your cursor over an image. Within a slideshow, if you hover over the folder icon to the left of any image, you'll see the same option, too.

How do I add a note to an image or article?
To add a note to an image or article, simply follow these steps:

  • Within the article or slideshow you.re viewing, click the "Add a Note" link.
  • Add your note to the text entry area provided.
  • Click "Save".
  • Now, your note will appear with this article or image any time you access it.

Comments

How do I post comments on articles and blog entries?
In order to comment, you must be a WWD.com paid subscriber. When you're logged in, click on the "Add Comment" button beneath any article or blog entry, and type your comment into the space presented.

How do I edit or delete my comment?
We currently do not offer functionality to allow users to edit or delete their own comments. If you'd like to request that a comment you.ve posted be deleted, please email techsupport@wwd.com.

Send to a Friend

How do I send an article to a friend?
Simply click on Send to a Friend in the top right-hand corner of any article. You'll then be prompted to enter your name, email address, your friend's email address and an optional message. Click "Send" and the article's on its way. If you are a paid subscriber, your friend will be sent the entire article in an email. Otherwise, he or she will receive a link to the article on WWD.com.

PDF/DOWNLOADABLE NEWSPAPER

How do I print the PDF version of the complete newspaper?
When you have opened your PDF, you can print it by selecting "File" from the Acrobat Reader menu, then "Print." You may then need to adjust the print setting for both the document and your printer to print according to your preferred specifications.
  • Make sure the page orientation is set to "Portrait" and select the paper size "Tabloid" if it's available for the bestprinting results.*
  • You may also need to select "Shrink to Printable Area" in under "Page Scaling" in Adobe's print dialogue box.
* The newspaper's actual size is 11.5" x 15", so for best results, print to tabloid or A3 size paper. The newspaper can also be printed to 8.5" x 11" or A4, but type faces will appear smaller than in the actual newspaper.

The PDF is available only to paid subscribers of WWD.com.

How do I download the PDF version of the complete newspaper?
You can open a PDF directly or you can download it to a specific place on your computer. To download an issue, right-click on the link and select "Save Target As" to choose where you.d like your PDF to download. Once downloaded, your PDF should open automatically.

What do I do if I've forgotten my username or password?
To retrieve your password, visit the Lost Username/Password page, and enter the email address that you supplied when you subscribed to WWD.com. We will send your username and password to the email address you provided.

To change your password, click on the "Account Benefits & Settings" link at the top of any page. Here you can edit your WWD.com profile and change your password. Click on "Password" under "Edit Personal Information" and you.ll be presented with screens to change your password.

Having trouble logging in?
If you're finding it difficult to log in to WWD.com, see if any of the following suggestions solve the problem:
1. Have you registered? If not, click here to complete our online form.
2. To access daily news articles from the past year, you must become a paying subscriber. To subscribe to WWD.com, fill out the secure online order form.
3. Has your account expired? If your online account has expired, you'll have to re-subscribe before you can access the site. Click here to renew your subscription.
4. Are you typing in your username and password correctly? Make sure you are entering the exact same username and password that you registered with.
5. Are your cookies enabled? Your browser must accept cookies in order to access the site. (See your browser.s "Help" area for information on how to enable cookies.) If you.re concerned about others accessing your account, be sure you don.t check the "Remember Me" box when logging in. This will delete the cookie usually kept when you close your browser. You will then have to log in again when you come back to the site.
6. Are you accessing the site through a bookmark or favorites link? If so, try typing in the address directly: www.wwd.com
7. If you continue to get an error message when you try to log in, try logging out, then logging in again. This will clear your WWD cookies and allow you to begin a new session.
